( STTACAS ) - FIT

    Science & Technology Translators’ Association of the Chinese Academy of  Sciences (STTACAS)  was  founded  in  September 1986. Initiating its academic exchanges with domestic and international counterparts in 1987, it became a member of  FIT (Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs), a UNESCO affiliation, the following year. Currently, there are  STTACAS  local chapters scattered in 14 cities of China.

        STTACAS offers a broad range of services with its professional competence and has established extensive professional connections with many institutions in the areas of translation, research, higher-learning as well as corporate enterprises, both at home and abroad.

SCOPE OF SERVICE

1 Holding various kinds of symposiums and workshops related to translation and interpretation.

2   Organizing seminars and meetings pertaining to translation both in theory and practice.

3  Sponsoring various kinds of foreign language training classes and correspondent courses of foreign languages, and disseminating foreign language teaching experience.

        With joint efforts from the relevant departments (divisions) of the University of Science & Technology of China and its Graduate School, STTACAS  trains all types of  qualified translation personnel.

4  Offering translation and consultation services. STTACAS can provide translation and interpretation services in the following languages:  English, French, Russian, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Romanian, Arabic, Uigur, Esperanto, Indonesian and Czech.

5   Holding  international  conference  of  various scales at requests.

        Working together with the Centre for International Scientific Exchanges of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, STTACAS provides satisfactory services and facilities for international conferences.

6  Compiling and publishing academic books and materials on translation; providing information and literature on the management of  high-tech industries and publishing academic journals such as the Chinese Science & Technology Translators Journal (CN11-2771/N, ISSN 1002-0489), and CAS Newsletter.

7    Engaging   in   vocational   activities   related  to translation and other work at home and abroad.

The  quality of the Translation  Works  finished by STTACAS enjoys good fame with the cheap prices as follows:

● English-Chinese translation：RMB.220.00 by thousand Chinese characters;

● Chinese-English translation:  RMB.260.00 by thousand Chinese characters;

●  The abouve-mentioned prices will be increased  by 30-50% according to the level of speciality and urgence.
